‘The Most Beautiful Car Ever Made’ Could Be Yours

When Enzo Ferrari spoke cars, you listened and when he said the Jaguar E-Type is, “the most beautiful car ever made,” you never forget it.

One such example of this car, a 1965 Jaguar E-Type Series 1, will cross the block this weekend at RM Sotheby’s Hershey, PA auction. First offered in 1961 the car featured a 3.8-liter engine; however, in 1965 Jaguar would increase the engine to a 4.2-liter. This classic Jaguar represents that first year of the E-Type’s engine upgrade.

Having traded hands a few times it appears as though the car spent a good portion of it’s life in New Jersey and most likely never out of the Northeast as it finds its way to Pennsylvania for auction. While it’s projected to fetch between $140,000-$160,000 one could argue that’s a small price to pay for beauty of this caliber.

Ken Block Takes On Britain In 1400HP Hoonicorn V2

To celebrate the launch of Forza Horizon 4 and its open-world game play in England, Forza had the purveyor of hoon, Ken Block, out to the Goodwood Estate for some real world playing of his own.

It’s always remarkable watching Block hoon his 1400 HP 1965 Ford Mustang Hoonicorn V2, but what’s even as remarkable is that they turned this video around in about a week as followers of Block would have just noticed him across the pond. Though the Goodwood Estate is the main attraction, the video titled “Ken Block vs Britain” certainly incorporates more things British, from Mini Coopers to a Supermarine Spitfire and an appearance by Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, lately of Game of Thrones fame.

Infamous John Cena GT, Three Others Shine In Texas

By now you’ve probably heard of John Cena’s GT sale and the then lawsuit (if you haven’t, read here), well, it’s sold again in Dallas.

It was at Mecum’s Indy auction that the car would first cross the block setting in motion all the legal happenings and it was again at Mecum the car was recently sold for $1,320,000 making it the highest sold car and the highest of three GTs in the top 6. However, despite it being the top GT in Dallas the car dropped nearly half a million in value since selling at Mecum over the summer.

The third place car, and second place GT, was a 2005 with just under 2,000 miles bringing in $291,500. It was followed in fourth and sixth by 2006s selling for $280,500 and $258,500, respectively. Though despite the decrease in Cena’s and abundance at a single auction the cars are still very much in demand and fetching a good price relative to their original sale prices.

First 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Rolls Out

Somewhat fitting that the 2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye would roll off the line at FCA’s Brampton plant in Canada right around Canada’s Thanksgiving since it’s a car we can all be thankful for.

The Redeye packs the same supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8 engine of the Demon and the same 797hp and 707lb.-ft of torque output. Those numbers equate to a 3.4-second 0-60 run and quarter-mile of 10.8-seconds at 131 mph and a top speed of 203 mph. The Redeye will officially begin arriving at Dodge dealerships this fall.

All 2019 Challenger SRT Hellcat models feature a new fully functional, dual-snorkel hood that pays homage to the distinctive Dodge design themes from some of its most famous muscle cars. The new Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye receives new badging, including a sinister red eye featured on the Hellcat fender badges, instrument panel, key fobs and supercharger housing. Inside, the performance interior features a new 220-mph red speedometer and Redeye logo splash screen.

1931 Cadillac Series 355 Is One Of The Hallmarks Of Luxury

Although the early 1930s were a time of desperation for the American car industry, Cadillac was in far better shape with the deep pockets of General Motors at its side. This was not the case for such greats as Stutz, Marmon, Pierce-Arrow, Peerless, or Duesenberg, who would all vanish before the decade was over. Sensing an opportunity, Cadillac threw caution to the wind and pulled out all of the stops in an effort to establish itself as the undisputed leader in the American luxury car market. In particular, 1931 saw Cadillac offer no less than four different passenger car lines that were powered by eight-, twelve-, and even sixteen-cylinder engines. These were large cars that offered a body in every style and enough power to run with the best. In an era where one’s place in society was determined by the number of cylinders in one’s car, Cadillac had a car that anyone who had enough money to afford something a little better than the average Ford or Chevrolet.

Cadillac has always represented the hallmark of American luxury and this fine 1931 Cadillac Series 355 eight-cylinder Convertible Coupe with coachwork by Fleetwood is a car that anyone would have been proud to drive in 1931, but only a lucky few actually could. Riding on a 134-inch wheelbase, this is an impressive car from any angle with a long nose and shortened rear deck whose lines are only broken when the rumble seat is open for rear passengers. Cadillac’s development and engineering program was working overtime for 1931 as the eight-cylinder series cars may have resembled the previous year at a glance, but through the magic of design was actually lower with more styled and toned proportions. So subtly different was Cadillac’s V-8 car for 1931 that hardly anyone knew that it actually used a redesigned frame. Five ports in the hood gave an elongated appearance and single-bar bumpers were elegant and streamlined. Cadillac actually retooled a smaller headlamp for their V-8 cars and we can only wonder if this was done to make the car itself look bigger. The convertible coupe offered here is finished in white with red pin striping and the convertible top is finished in tan. With its nicely styled proportions this is a convertible coupe that looks just as nice with the top up as it does down. This Cadillac wears an older restoration that has been well maintained since. It comes from long-term ownership and in that time, it has been driven very little, but always properly cared for. As a convertible coupe, this Cadillac holds two or four passengers in a level of comfort that only a Cadillac can. It rides on chrome wire wheels that carry wide whitewall tires and its beautiful lines are nicely enhanced by dual side-mounted spare tires. The interior is finished in tan leather and all upholstery is perfectly and accurately recreated to factory standards. At the rear, the rumble seat is spacious and is easily accessed through a step plate on the passenger side rear fender. Power for this Cadillac comes from a 353 cubic-inch L-head V-8 with 95 horsepower mated to a three-speed selective synchromesh manual transmission. The engine compartment is clean and tidy but could use some detailing for show duty. With its V-8 power, this is a car that has no trouble holding modern highway speeds.

Cadillac had a car for everyone in 1931 and perhaps this was the pivotal year that moved the company into the future. In the mid-1930s, rival Packard began to reach into the mid-priced market with their 110 and 120 cars, but Cadillac held the course as a premier luxury car builder with cars like this convertible coupe. This Cadillac is also a First Prize winner from the Classic Car Club of America. Unrestored 1970 Hemi Cuda Has Just 81 Original Miles

Simply, the lowest mile Cuda on the planet, period with 84 historically and highly documented miles. This is an amazing all correct, all original and all numbers matching Tor Red Hemi Cuda with a significant racing history to boot.

It was special-ordered and purchased new at Shreves Plymouth-Dodge in June 1970 by Bill Reardon of Clarksburg, West Virginia, who was finally buying his dream car at 62 years of age. One of the last ten Hemi Cudas built in 1970, it was exactly as he imagined it: Tor Red with a black interior; Torqueflite automatic transmission; Shaker hood with tie downs and color-matching steel wheels with dog-dish hub caps and Goodyear Polyglas GT tires. He named it True Grit.

Bill immediately began modifying True Grit to get her ready for the drag strip: removing the intake and carburetors, the complete exhaust system, rear end, rear wheels and tires and front shocks. He replaced all these with the best performance parts available, while carefully stowing the originals in safe storage. In his first season racing True Grit, Bill would make approximately 30 passes at three local drag strips with times occasionally dipping into the high 10-second range.

Sadly, that would be his one and only season as Bill suddenly passed away. When his widow passed in 1977, the couple’s son sold the car and all the original parts to Marvin Dillion, who, after returning it to its original configuration at 42 miles, drove it less than a single mile in the 16 years he owned it.

The car passed through three more caring owners before renowned Hemi specialist John Arruza of Thomasville, North Carolina, purchased it with 61 miles on the odometer. Arruza performed his magic on the car, refreshing it after its years of storage with a complete fluid change and tune-up and overhauling its carburetion system so that it once again performed as new. Arruza drove the car to 73 miles in the process of refining the car’s state of tune. Since then it has been moved enough to take the odometer to its present reading of 81 miles.

Today, it is the textbook definition of a time capsule; unmolested, original and in superb condition, with documentation that includes the factory broadcast sheet and a recorded verification of the numbers and codes—for Hemi lovers, the Holy Grail and it is up for auction at AuctionTime.com.

Lot # 7538 – 1987 Buick Grand National

All good things come to an end, and Buick decided to go out with a bang for its final Grand National. In 1987, a lightweight WE4 (turbo T) option was offered and only 1,547 of this variant were produced. This is a mint 1987 Buick Grand National with the WE4 option that is extremely well taken care of and all original; including, its badging to let everyone know you are driving a Grand National. The engine bay is very clean and houses the 3.8L turbo charged V6 rated at 235hp and 330lb-ft. Despite being over 30 years old this Buick is still grand and once the turbo spools up it pounces forward and throws the driver back in their seat like the good old days.

The interior is a two-tone gray and black color scheme. Everything inside is original except for an A-pillar mounted Auto Meter boost gauge. The original Delco radio, floor mats, gauges, and controls are all in very good working shape. It is a very spacious and comfortable interior. The black original paint is in extremely good condition as the car has always been garaged kept.

Lot # 8659 – 2017 VooDoo Viper

The rarest of rare at only 31 produced worldwide, this is a guaranteed ROI, one of the last production Dodge Vipers. It is no. 29 of the final 31 produced and has only 11 transport miles on it, she still retains all of the pre-delivery prep on the seats, shifter, and glovebox. This Voodoo II’ 645hp and 600lb.-ft. of torque engine has never been on the road or track.

Lot # 8655 – 1981 BMW M1

One of the Rarest BMWs produced in the world with only 453 units produced and 20 of them being racecars! This specific M1 has not been offered for sale for over 30 years and has just 8,000 original miles. Additionally, it still sports the original paint, motor, trans, and all body components. It has not been restored, only maintained and stored indoors throughout its life.

The interior is in great shape, but it’s truly the original exterior Alpine White paint that steals the show from a cosmetic perspective. Lot # 3073 – 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible

This 1967 Chevrolet Corvette carries with it the National Corvette Restorers Society’s Top Flight Award, an honor that places it in the upper echelon of the Corvette community.

Produced on February 1, 1967, and delivered to O’Meara Scutt Motor Co. in Angleton, Texas, this is a very rare example of the final iteration of the mid-year Corvette combining big-block power with factory air conditioning in the convertible body style. Driven by Zora Arkus-Duntov’s insistence on further developing the third-generation Corvette, Chevrolet delayed its introduction to 1968 and reinstated the second-generation Sting Ray for 1967, resulting in what many Corvette faithful consider the finest of that generation and one of the best Corvettes ever made.

Its matching-numbers L36 427/390 HP V-8 with K66 transistorized ignition is complemented with a Muncie 4-speed and G81 Positraction differential with flexible 3.36:1 gearing. Factory air conditioning and an AM/FM radio round out this car’s many desirable features, all of which are listed on the all-important tank sticker.
