To have owned one Yenko Camaro in a lifetime is a win in and of itself, but to have owned nearly 50 is beyond comparison. However, that’s the case with collector Gary Holub who now brings two Yenkos to auction along with a Monte Carlo, Camaro SS and Camaro Z28, all from his personal collection.
The star of the lot headed to auction is Holub’s 1968 Yenko Camaro RS/SS. Just 65 Yenko Camaros were made in the ’68 model year and of those only 11 of the RS/SS trimmed Camaros were produced and this is one of those surviving 11. Along with the classic ’68 is a newer take on the icon, a 2017 Chevrolet Yenko Camaro SC Convertible. This one-owner Yenko is No. 46 of 50 built and has just 209 miles on its supercharged LT1 416/806 HP engine. Gary optioned for No. 46 to commemorate his 46th Yenko owned.
Additionally, joining the Yenkos at Mecum Kissimmee is Gary’s 1979 Monte Carlo, 1969 Camaro SS and 1969 Camaro Z28. In all, it may just be a snapshot into Gary’s impressive collection, but for whoever is fortunate enough to be the winning bidder on any (or all) of these cars it will undoubtedly be a standout in their garage.
