All-New 2019 Ram 1500 Sheds Weight, Gains Strength

Joining the slew of releases so far at the NAIAS in Detroit is the latest from Ram, the all-new Ram 1500. The strongest Ram ever is the result of a new frame consisting of 98% high-strength steel which also has meant a near 100 pound reduction in its weight and a 225 pound net loss.

While gaining that extra weight and shedding weight, the Ram 1500 also sees an increase in power over prior years with its, “eTorque mild hybrid system on second generation 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 and legendary 5.7-liter HEMI® V-8 engines.” An addition which adds up to 90lb.-ft. of torque of the V-6 option and 130lb.-ft of torque with the V-8.
