5 Cars To Watch At Mecum’s Kansas City Auction

Mecum will close out their 2018 auction season beginning today in Kansas City and running through Saturday. In America’s heartland it looks to be American muscle and classics dominating the auction listings, but that’s not to say their aren’t some other interesting cars in the mix. These are five that we’re keeping an eye on for various reasons, none of which are based on any kind of science, but what’s science these days anyway?

1. 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge

It’s no Tom Brady, but it’s still a goat and having undergone a frame-off restoration this GTO with a Ram Air III 400/366 HP engine could bring big money.

2. 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429

Original drivetrain, original documents and only 18,000 miles is what we like to see in a classic Mustang… Especially a boss 429.

3. 2006 Ford GT

It’s hard to not mention GTs at auction these days for two reason. 1) They’re pretty sweet cars. 2) They routinely bring in stupid money.

4. 1933 Ford Street Rod

A green ’30s Ford hot rod, the boss man would freak if not watching this classic hot rod cross the block this weekend.

5. 1983 DeLorean DMC-12

Best for last? I think so. DeLoreans aren’t rare, but the money they bring fluctuates drastically. This one is said to have only 2,100 original miles and been garage kept and covered since 1985! Come Monday this could very well be the story out of Kansas City.
