One of the greatest tragedies in motorsports is that of Michael Schumacher. Follow racing long enough and you’re bound to witness the spectrum of injuries on the track, but what makes Schumacher’s so devastating is that it happened off the track during his retirement.
In December of 2013 Schumacher was involved in a skiing accident that resulted in a coma and injuries that to this day have him undergoing treatment removed from public life. That was six years ago and now on the heels of his 50th birthday Ferrari has debuted Michael 50, an exhibition dedicated to his racing career and time with Scuderia Ferrari.
The exhibition is located at Ferrari’s Maranello Museum and pays tribute to the driver’s unmatched seven F1 championships, 91 victories and 155 podiums with various milestone achieving cars on hand. Additionally, the exhibit showcases Ferraris that the famed German driver would play a role in developing during his retirement such as the 430 Scuderia and the Ferrari California.
The Schumacher exhibit joins the already running Driven by Enzo and Passion and Legend exhibits at the Italian museum.
