The NHRA Countdown for the Championship kicks-off this weekend from the zMAX Dragway in Charlotte, North Carolina. The race weekend marks the second time the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series will stop at the venue this season; the first being the four-wide racing weekend this past spring. It will also be the second coming of Gas Monkey Energy’s Alex Laughlin.
Devotees may recall that Alex raced his Pro Stock Camaro in the spring event, but ultimately fell up short of taking home a Wally. This weekend he looks to learn from that experience as he pulls double duty in both his Pro Stock Camaro and Top Alcohol Dragster.
