As New York and the rest of the world brace for the release of the Challenger SRT Demon at the 2017 New York International Auto Show (NYIAS) the boys at the Dodge and SRT brands have more quietly been perfecting the 2018 Durango SRT. “America’s fastest three-row SUV” will make its official debut Thursday at the Chicago Auto Show.
The Durango SRT is kicking out 475-horsepower from its 392-cubic-inch HEMI V-8 engine and 470 lb.ft of torque giving it an NHRA certified quarter-mile time of 12.9 seconds and a 0-60 time of just 4.4 seconds. In addition to hauling a%$, the SRT will be able to haul whatever else you may throw at it, up to a best-in-class 8,600 pounds.
While everyone knows it’s what is inside, or rather under the hood, that counts; the new Durango’s exterior was given a new wide body design, a functional SRT hood and new front fascia. The interior will reflect the SRT heritage with leather and suede throughout with an optional Demonic Red Laguna leather and carbon-fiber trim. The new 2018 Dodge Durango SRT will begin hitting dealerships in the fourth quarter of 2017. Get you some of that!
