From Henry Ford himself to Carroll Shelby, many names have risen to fame through Ford Motor Company. However, one name often overlooked in Ford’s storied history is that of Bill Stroppe and this 1975 Ford Bronco Stroppe Baja Edition is evidence to his importance.
Spending majority of his career with Ford Bill was about all things fast, from boats to Broncos and nearly everything in between. In fact, when Ford debuted their Bronco for off-road use in 1965 they tapped Bill to test it. This 1975 is one of just 30 built by Bill Stroppe and Associates in California. Built off of the Sport Bronco Package it underwent a frame off restoration and features its original, “Baja steering wheel, roll bar, cactus-smasher front bumper, bumper supports, trailer hitch, CB lights and double shocks.” Additionally, it features a rebuilt 331 CI V8 and C4 automatic transmission with Doug Thorley headers and exhaust.
A trifecta of everlasting names in the automotive world, Ford, Stroppe and Bronco came together to create something amazing and it could be yours at Mecum’s Kissimmee auction.
