Once The World’s Fastest, Vincent Black Shadow Series C Heads To Auction

It began in the early 1920s as Vincent-HRD, but later evolved into simply Vincent as to avoid confusion with Harley-Davidson (HD) in the U.S. market. And just as the name evolved, Philip Vincent’s Rapide evolved into the Black Shadow, a 120mph bike in 1951.

This 1951, albeit titled as a ’52, is a numbers matching Series C model that began its journey in Maiiars, Mitcham, UK and now finds itself for sale at Mecum’s Las Vegas, NV January 23-17.
