Lost For 63 Years THE Original Land Rover To Be Restored

In honor of the car maker’s 70th anniversary Land Rover will turn to their past in a major way, with the restoration of the brand’s original launch vehicle. First shown at the Amsterdam Motor Show in 1948 this Rover would then vanish and remain that way for 63 years having only been discovered recently in a garden a few miles outside of Solihull, UK, where the car was first built.

It’s journey from the Solihull factory to Amsterdam to a Welsh countryside and ultimately a garden in the backyard of its birthplace is an amazing one and one that is not over just yet. The original vehicle will find new life this year thanks to Jaguar Land Rover Classic Works in Coventry who will embark on a year long restoration to return this icon back to the roads.
