Once Owned By Bruce Willis, 1969 Dodge Charger ‘Bullitt’ Spec Sold

Bought for the action-superstar, Bruce Willis, by his now ex-wife Demi Moore, this 1969 Dodge Charger has since found its way to auction in the UK by way of Jay Kay of Jamiroquai.

As everyone knows before Willis there was McQueen and just as Willis made “yippee ki yay motherf—” famous made, McQueen made the ‘Bullit’ Charger an icon. Owned by Kay for the previous eight years it was purchased directly from Willis; however, it would be Kay that would do significant work to make it as close to perfect as possible.

This restoration and upgrade work would include over $30,000 being spent on the 8.2-liter engine alone in 2014. In the end Kay would sell the car at Silverstone auctions for just over $130,000 USD.

Formula 1 2018 Livery Gallery, So Far

With only about a month remaining in the offseason and testing well underway for the 2018 Formula 1 season, teams have begun unveiling their liveries. The offseason news surrounding the 2018 cars was more focused on the new halos, but seeing the final product now they do not appear as bad as anticipated…Granted that bar was set quite low.

Of the reveals, so far, the most noteworthy is McLaren’s return to the iconic orange which I’m sure team, drivers, fans, F1, quite possibly everyone hopes will help the team turn it around in 2018 after a disaster 2017 season. Specialty Vehicle Engineering Drops 800HP Yenko/SC Silverado

The 2018 Yenko/SC Supercharged 800HP Silverado doesn’t make shy about its power, it’s in the name and all over the car, but for good reason…It’s an 800hp Chevy Silverado.

With a customt 416 C.I.D. (6.8L) LT-1 engine with a supercharger bringing the power the truck also features upgraded YENKO badged 6-piston Brembo brake calipers bringing the custom 6-spoke, Michelin performance tire wrapped, wheels to a stop. Additionally, the truck features all the little interior upgrades that one would expect, but what is arguably as shocking as the 800hp is the 3 year/36,000 mile engine and supercharger warranty with an additional matching non-powertrain component limited warranty.

“The King,” Richard Petty To Part With Decades Of Memorabilia, Cars

During a 35 year career of any sort you’re bound to acquire some stuff. Now imagine that career consisted of 200 wins, 7 of which were Daytona 500 wins, and 7 NASCAR championships, you’re gonna have a lot of stuff and boy does Richard Petty if this collection is any indication.

In all Petty will send 15 lots to auction ranging from race suits worn by the Labonte brothers to memorabilia as iconic as his dayglo red and Petty Blue 1974 Dodge Charger. The same car he won 31 races in, including his 5th Daytona 500 championship. Other cars include Kasey Kahne’s No. 9 Budweiser Dodge, two Petty’s Garage built Ford Mustangs and an F-150. The auction will be live in person at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino May 12th and live online the same day hosted by Julien’s Auctions. The public exhibition of the items will be on hand daily from May 8-12.

Rich Person Ferrari Seized In Rich Person Way

Look at the snobby tow truck with its fancy crane seizing a fancy car! Granted I’m no expert on towing in jolly ole England, but I do know when I watched my Jeep Wrangler being towed here in America it was done so with a tow truck lifting the the front wheels off the ground and booking it. Regardless, there is something cathartic about watching this Ferrari being taken away dramatically through the air as if its a Fast and Furious 17 stunt.

Pair of ’69 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1s To Be Sold As Set [Updated]

In 1969 Chevrolet produced the ZL1 Camaro for the first time with a run of just 69 and of that hyper limited run two are about to hit the market being sold as a pair.

It goes without saying that the low production numbers alone make these ZL1s very rare, but coupled with their collectibility makes a pair coming up together practically unheard of. These two ’69s both stem from the first 50 (numbers 18 and 30) to be sent to Fred Gibb in La Harpe, IL. Furthering increasing the rarity is the Dusk Blu paint of No. 18 which was one of just 10 and still features its original original all-aluminum 427 CI V-8 engine. In fact, both maintain their original engines with No. 30 having only 361 original miles.

Both ZL1s have undergone full restorations and restored to factory colors with factory paperwork. Offered as a pair when they cross at Mecum’s Kissimme, FL auction early next year its not a matter of it they sell, but for how much.

Maxlider Documents Their Four-Door Bronco’s Road To Best 4×4 Of SEMA 2017

Obviously the build itself isn’t new as it took home best 4×4 honors at SEMA last November, but what is new is the video series put out by Maxlider Motors documenting their journey to SEMA. And any video series that ends with “a stretched 4-door, supercharged, Coyote 5.0L, high-end custom 1966 Bronco” carrying a $300,000 price tag is alright by us. Granted we’d like a zero knocked off that, but we’re only watching, not buying.

Harley-Davidson Bets On Two New Sportster Models

On the heels of announcing the closure of their Kansas City, MO plant the motorcycle icon Harley-Davidson has announced two new Sportster motorcycles of 100 they plan to introduce by 2027. The new models, the Iron 1200 and Forty-Eight special, are high-bar bikes which bring together the old-school styling of Harley’s past with the Evolution 1200 V-Twin engine.

The Iron 1200 recipe starts with power. A 1202cc Evolution® 1200 V-Twin engine delivers 36 percent more torque (73.0 ft. lbs. vs. 53.8 ft. lb.) than the 883 Evolution engine that powers the Iron 883, the original urban brawler in the Sportster family. The Iron 1200 brings more punch to the street fight – more power to blast away from green lights and more mid-range to muscle through traffic. More power means more rowdy fun.

The satin-black Mini Ape handle bar is an essential element of the garage-built chopper look that adds instant attitude. This 1.0-inch diameter handlebar offers an 8.75-inch rise, 32-inch spread and 6.5-inch pull back, that opens the rider triangle with a fist-in-the-wind posture. The gloss black speed screen framing the headlamp is a West Coast styling influence that amplifies the attitude of the tall bars, is intended to offer some wind deflection at speed and provides a space for easy personalization. The fast-back Café Solo Seat flows to the rear fender and is shaped to help hold the rider in position when the torque of the Evolution 1200 kicks in.

The burly front end of the Forty-Eight Special – a 130mm front tire framed by 49mm forks secured in massive forged aluminum triple clamps – looks especially menacing when topped with a gloss-black, 7.25-inch high Tallboy handlebar.

“We specifically selected the Tallboy bar for its shape,” said Richards. “It offers less pull-back than the Mini-Ape, a look that really works with the steamroller front end and the smaller fuel tank on the Forty-Eight Special model.”

That 2.2-gallon “peanut” Sportster fuel tank features rows of bold, horizontal stripes framing a simple Harley-Davidson text logo. The fuel tank is available in three color options: Vivid Black, Wicked Red, and Billiard White.

The Evolution 1200 engine features a black top end and an expanse of brilliant chrome below, including chrome primary, inspection and derby covers, and solid chrome muffler and exhaust shields. Chrome lower rocker boxes, pushrod tubes and tappet covers contrast with the black cylinders to highlight the V-Twin engine shape. High-performance Michelin Scorcher 31 tires front and rear are mounted on Black Split 9-Spoke Cast Aluminum wheels (16-inch diameter front and rear).
