Last summer we brought you word of a group of individuals aiming to send the Dodge Viper off in style, with a Nurburgring production car record. At that time we saw footage of their run and were given the times, but what was not shown was the determination on the part of the privateers who set out to achieve this on their own.
Perhaps on their own is a bit vague as the effort was crowdfunded, but there was no Dodge or any other corporate support. Just a team of passionate people and two 2017 Viper GTS-Rs from a showroom in Texas shipped to Germany for the run. The entire effort can now be seen in the documentary, 7:01 – The Story of Viper’s Return to the Green Hell, which can be viewed in its entirety below or on YouTube.
