1962 Corvette, ‘Lola,’ From Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Being Auctioned

It may not have the household recognition of Eleanor, but those who know Marvel, know Lola. This 1962 Chevrolet Corvette was one that was purchased and restored for use on the ABC show, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The classic is the personal “flying” car of Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) who is also no stranger to the various Marvel films.

In reality, this 1962 fuel-injected 360hp, 327 cu. in. fuel-injected V-8 ‘Vette, sadly, does not fly, but it is a car unlike many others from TV and film. Given that the end goal for “props” like Lola are to look good on screen they can often look terrible in person. However, that is not the case here. This car underwent restoration only where it was a must and only with original parts. An example being, bumpers and such were disassembled and re-chromed verse being simply replaced with new polished parts.

The Roman Red C1 features black leather interior as well as the optional, removable, hardtop. The “front suspension has new kingpins, control arm, bushings, an brakes. The gas tank is also a new unit.” Furthermore, Lola has a six-speed manual transmission as well as four-wheel disc brakes added to here. All-in-all, Lola is a fine ‘Vette, but coupled with her ties to the ever expanding Marvel universe her value as a collector car is truly recognized. Lola will head to auction this weekend at Auburn Fall.
