Own A Piece Of IROC History, Mark Martin’s Final Car For Sale

It has been a decade since IROC folded, but while it ran it was one of the greatest concepts in racing and a simple one at that. A league where drivers from all different series race identical cars. A perfect solution to you and your buddies arguing NASCAR verse F1 verse Indy verse any driver, really. Unfortunately, for IROC and its fans, the series became too closely tied to NASCAR with their stock cars, oval tracks and heavy influx of participants from the series. As a result of that, and numerous other factors, IROC would last run in 2006 after over 30 years.

That final season IROC would run a field of Pontiac Trans Ams for the eleventh time in the series history and now you can buy one from that final season. This 2006 Trans Am was raced by Steve Kinser, Matt Kenseth and Mark Martin, the latter driver having just one the 2005 championship giving Martin the most championships and wins in series history.

Martin’s Crown Royal IROC series car will cross the block at Mecum Harrisburg. It features a 350 CI V-8 racing engine with 500hp, Laughlin Racing chassis, Penske shocks, Brembo brakes and more. The Trans Am will be part of the lots in Harrisburg going up Saturday, August 5th.
