It should come as little surprise that a Louisville car auction will be heavy with Mustangs, after all, it is the home of the Kentucky Derby. However, this weekend they’re purebreds of a different breed as four different Shelby Mustangs will cross the block at Mecum Louisville.
1968 Shelby GT500 Fastback
This unrestored ’68 is number matching and features most of its original Candy Apple Red paint and black bucket seat interior.
1968 Shelby GT350 Fastback
Highly original this GT350 has its date code correct J-code 302 CI V-8 engine as well as original interior. It has undergone one refresh of the paint, but to factory specifications.
1969 Shelby GT500 Fastback
Packing a 428 CI Ram Air Cobra Jet V-8 engine and race tuned suspension this ’69 was built to stretch her legs. Perhaps an early entry for next years running at Churchill Downs?
1968 Shelby GT350 Convertible
1 of just 404 convertibles made in ’68 this Shelby went through a complete rotisserie restoration in 1990. As a result it features a crisp code T Candy Apple Red, date code correct J-code 302 CI V-8 engine and 73,120 original miles.
