One Of Only 51 ’69 Ferrari Dino 206 GTs By Scaglietti Up For Auction

Forgotten through the years to those who aren’t serious collectors or Ferrari fanatics this 1969 Dino 206 GT by Scaglietti is a gem. Produced by Ferrari, but sold under the Dino moniker, the 206 GT was oft overshadowed by the Ferrari banner. Combined with the small run of 206’s, just 152 in total and 51 in 1969, the car has become increasingly rare and valued by collectors. Given the low numbers, the 206 GTs remained very much hand built compared to their 246 GT/GTS counterparts who had a significantly more mechanized building process resulting in nearly 3,800 being produced.

The 206 GT was powered by a 2-liter all-alloy V6 engine which at the time played against its popularity when Ferrari’s were being regularly produced with more desirable V12 engines. However, through the years the market began to take notice of the Dino 206 GT and even secured itself a spot on Motor Trends list of “The Greatest Ferraris of All Time.” This weekend presents an opportunity for collectors to own their own 1969 Dino 206 GT by Scaglietti when it crosses the auction block at Villa Erba in Italy this weekend.
