Bespoke, one of a kind, one-off, these are all terms that get thrown around way too much in the car world. While sure a tweak to this or that may make it accurate to the literal definition, few cars truly encapsulate what it means to be unique, enter the Rolls-Royce ‘Sweptail.’ Four years in the making this magnificent Rolls-Royce is the flag-bearer for future bespoke automobiles. The vision of a client who approached the House of Rolls-Royce and proceeded to work closely with Giles Taylor, Director of Design for Rolls-Royce, in making the 1920-30s inspired car a reality.
Taking cues from that era the owner and designer created a masterpiece which pays homage to vintage Rolls-Royces as well as the owners passion for yachts and airplanes. Most notably is the uninterrupted glass roof which is second to none and features glass curvature that’s no longer scene in modern cars. And while inspired by the past the ‘Sweptail’ is without a doubt a modern car, note the push button automated champagne holder and flutes in the center console. With so much time, passion and money that made the ‘Sweptail’ a reality the definitions for bespoke, one of a kind and one-off have been forever altered.
