Dennis Collin’s Original Dodge Charger Rallye For Sale [Video]

In 1972 Dodge decided to overhaul some of their trim packages for the Charger and in one quick motion the R/T, Super Bee and 500 were no more. Replacing them was the Charger Rallye package which would become increasingly rare through the years as only about 160 of this variety are believed to have been built with an unknown number of those surviving today. This is one of the surviving 160 being offered up by Dennis Collins of Collins Bros Jeep.

Purchased in 1987, the same owner would hold onto it for 30 years. Two years in transmission or driveshaft problems would exile the Charger to the garage where it would remain the remaining 28 years. A loss to the owner, but a gain for anyone looking to restore this classic Charger as it features predominately original parts in solid condition. The top engine option for the year, the 440 4V automatic, was rebuilt prior to 1989, but remains running and number matching. Increasing to the already rare nature of the car is the L37 hidden headlights and N96 air grabber hood, both rare and increasingly so paired together.
