In a continuing partnership with the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), Ford and the EAA have again debuted a one-of-a-kind build. However, this time the tandem forgo their usual car base in favor of Ford’s already badass 2017 F-150 Raptor.
Albeit a tad low hanging pairing Ford’s Raptor with the F-22 Raptor, the result was actually a match made in Heaven, err Detroit. The project was led by Ford design manager Melvin Betancourt in conjunction with the Ford Performance Team. In the end, the team rolled out an amped up Ford with a twin-turbo, Whipple intercooled, high-output EcoBoost engine to go along with the beefed-up suspension, wheels, brakes and lighting. Not to mention interior mods that reflect the new, even more, aggressive F-22 Raptor exterior.
The truck is scheduled to be auctioned off Thursday, July 17 at the annual EAA Gathering of Eagles. The proceeds going to benefit the EAA’s youth aviation initiatives.
