1947 Harley-Davidson FL Knucklehead To Star At Monterey Auction

Originally introduced in 1937 the Harley-Davidson FL Knucklehead became a fixture for the brand, named after the heads resembling a human knuckle. Introduced on the heels of the Great Depression, yet before WWII, the Knucklehead would experience the same ups and downs that many of the time were, yet by 1947 that had all changed. In 1947 production of the bike had been ramped up to 12,000 units.

This 1947 Harley-Davidson FL Knucklehead with sidecar is one fine example of that 12,000. The sidecar is a matching 1946 Harley sidecar with matching removable HD windshield. The bike has just over 1,000 miles since it’s mechanical and cosmetic restoration and is expected to fetch anywhere between $50,000 and $60,000 at auction in Monterrey mid-August.
