Wouldn’t go so far as to say Ariel has been around since the invention of the wheel, but they do hold a patent on penny farthing technology… You know, those silly olde timey bikes with giant front wheels and tiny back ones. Anyway, since that moment in 1870 they have evolved into one of the world’s more unique manufacturers with motorcycles and quadricycles.
The U.K. firm has now announced their plan for a near 1,200hp electric hypercar project, dubbed, HIPERCAR. The car itself doesn’t yet have a name, but the company expects it to be in production in 2020 with a full release coming in 2019. The full-bodied car will be available in both AWD and RWD, with the former bringing the astounding performance from a series of electric motors. The car, when released, is expected to have a 0-60 time of 2.4-seconds and a top speed of 160mph.
