With the Frankfurt Motor Show just under a month away some of Europes biggest manufacturers are unveiling their newest models before making their public debut at the show. Two of those car makers are Porsche and Bentley who both released their updated Cayenne and Continental GT, respectively, on the same day.
The new Cayenne, Porsche’s first SUV, is the third-generation of a car many worried would significantly damage a brand built on sports cars. However, quite the opposite has happened and Porsche continues to expand their SUV and crossover lineup. When it is released, the third-gen will be available in the Cayenne and Cayenne S, presumably with the Turbo to follow later in the run, and feature 3.0-liter single-turbo V6 (340hp/332 lb.-ft.) and 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 (440hp/406 lb.-ft.) depending on trim level.
On the other side of the English Channel from Continental Europe, Bentley was hard at work on their new Continental GT. Coincidentally in its third-generation as well, the car has made quite a name for itself and Bentley. Equipped with a 6.0-litre W12 TSI engine the Continental GT is putting out 626hp and 664 lb.-ft. of torque equating to a 3.6-second 0-60 and top speed of 207mph. But perhaps most beneficial to the brand is the youthful styling in a market where competitors like Rolls-Royce are seeing the average owner age decrease dramatically.
