Garage Rehab Premieres August 30, Get A Behind The Scenes Look

At its core Garage Rehab is a simple premise, three men help struggling garages overcome adversity. However, the premise does speak to us as a society, to our pride, but also to our humanity. As co-host Russell J. Holmes puts it, “none of us know everything, so don’t be afraid to ask for help,” and help is what the Garage Rehab team does.

“I have been in places in my life where I was broke and had a hard time working my way out of it,” said Richard. “This gives me the opportunity to help others in the same situation.”

Having built the very successful Gas Monkey Garage of his own, Richard knows the value in putting the right people in the right role. Enter his co-hosts Russell and Chris Stephens or as the producer’s call them, “The Muscle” and “The Hustle.” While Chris came to the team a more traditional route, running a garage of his own, Russell enters the television and auto world a relative unknown.

“I was a fan of Fast N’ Loud as well as of Richard and one day I saw a post on social in which Richard was looking to start a new show,” said Russell. “I answered a shit ton of questions, one being would I have a hard time telling Richard no? Of course, I said, ‘hell no,’ I speak my mind.” A fact which should come as little surprise with over 20-years construction experience for the Long Island, NY native. And just like that, Russell was a part of the team and the right team is everything. Or as Richard puts it, “three heads are better than one.”

And certainly, three bodies are better than one as the team does is days what would usually take weeks or even months to accomplish. “They reach out and want us to help them, but I don’t think any of them expect all that they are going to have to go through,” said Russell. Often times that would mean not only ridding their garages of physical hindrances, but altering their mindset, “sometimes a 50-year-old’s will is tougher to tackle than a 100-year-old building.”

Even before the first episode has officially aired the team is already hearing news that their changes are showing positive results for owners, one even doing so well that he was able to buy the building next door. Garage Rehab officially premieres this Wednesday, August 30th at 10/9 central and as Russell puts it, “everyone who watches are going to be able to take away something they learn on the show and apply it to their job or business.”
