A Survivor 1979 Pontiac Firebird With Just 65 Miles, Yes, Please!

You can literally count the number of times that this ’79 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am SE was driven on one hand. It wasn’t forgotten about at a dealership or found in some barn, but rather meticulously kept from the day it was purchased… By an 18-year-old. However, this was not just any 18-year-old, he was William Leland III, a relative of Cadillac and Lincoln founder.

According to RK Motors, who is selling the car, William was a Smokey and the Bandit fan, who having a knowledge and family passion for cars, wanted it solely as a collectible and that’s just how it played out. Allowing the dealership to do minimal prep William would borrow tags to drive it home, again some years later to his new home and finally it would move a third time to his father’s house when William sadly passed away. In those three moves over 24 years the car would hit an astonishing 65 miles on the odometer.

Additionally, knowing that the car was to be kept in pristine condition it has never been touched by water and Leland and his father would regularly run the engine and run through the gears, as well as changing the fluids. Not only is the Firebird one of the finest in existence, William equipped it with $3,453 worth of options bringing the total to $10,009.45 when he purchased it back in 1979. Today RK Motors is asking $159,900 for the classic Pontiac.
