SpaceX Aims To Conquer Earth With City To City Rocket Flights [VIDEO]

Genius. Insanity. The future. A marketing ploy. Call the latest from SpaceX’s Elon Musk what you want, but it’s not boring. In fact, it’s pretty rad, but what would you expect from a guy and company that calls their rocket BFR (Big Fu*king Rocket).

It is that rocket SpaceX hopes to use to send people around the world. No, not in a circling the world sense, but to replace air travel as we know it. The BFR rocket would be able to carry people from water based launch/landing pads to anywhere in the world in an hour. And most routes even quicker, New York to Shanghai in 39 minutes, a route of 7,392 miles which would take an airplane 15 hours. The BFR can achieve a top speed of 16,777mph.

Like many of Musk’s ideas this is just that, an idea. No details were given in regards to logistics, funding, time frame, safety, and so on, but that nevertheless doesn’t impede the cool-factor… Also, no word yet on checked bag fees.
