It’s not quite Willy Wonka in that at the end of the day you will need to cut a check, but it’s damn near as close as an adult can get to being a kid in a candy factory… Excelsior-Henderson motorcycles is being auctioned off.
Part of the “Big 3” of motorcycles, along with Harley and Indian, Excelsior was founded in 1907 as a subsidiary of Excelsior Supply Company which began over 30 years prior focusing on bicycles. The auction, which will be held at Mecum’s annual motorcycle auction in Las Vegas, NV, will consist of the brand and its intellectual property. As well as, “10 federally registered trademarks, web domains, previous motorcycle frame and engine designs as well as 18 expired patents that can only be effectively exploited by the owner of Excelsior-Henderson.”
