The Motul Petit Le Mans race at Road Atlanta this Saturday will be the season finale for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the Tequila Patron North American Endurance Cup; however, it will also be the end of the road altogether for IMSA’s Prototype Challenge class and Gas Monkey Energy’s PC car.
Though this weekend the ORECA FLM09 won’t be sporting the usual GME scheme in the 10 hour endurance race, but rather return to its roots with Southwest Funding blue as the primary sponsor. Piloted this weekend by Don Yount, Buddy Rice and Daniel Burkett the BAR1 Motorsports team looks to take home a win to send the car out in style…And earn themselves an invitation to next years 24 Hours of Le Mans.
