Mustang GT Gets Optional Performance Package Right Out The Gate

Available now to order, the 2018 Ford Mustang GT won’t hit showrooms until the spring of 2018, yet that didn’t stop Ford from having an upgraded performance package ready to go the second the car becomes available.

The Performance Pack Level 2, as it is so aptly named, comes with many of the same options as the Performance Pack Level 1: “unique chassis and antilock brake tuning, unique stability control and electric power-assisted steering, Brembo six-piston front brake calipers with larger rotors, a k-brace, larger radiator, silver-painted strut tower brace and a TORSEN rear differential with 3.73 axle ratio.” However, what Package Level 2 brings beyond that is more aggressive grip.

Lower that the Perfromance Level 1, the 2 also is outfitted with a redesigned front splitter and rear spoiler all contributing to 24 pounds of downforce at 80mph. Additionally, 1.5-inch wider 305/30/R19 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires wrap the 19-inch aluminum wheels, 10.5-inch wide fronts and 11-inch wide rears. On the inside the performance of the car is instantly setoff by the Recaro racing seats available in cloth and leather. The Performance Pack Level 2 is available for order now for spring 2018 delivery.
